Both platforms are also qualified for the G3-Hybrid CENELEC A platform, demonstrating VertexCom’s strong international competitiveness in Hybrid PLC+RF communication technologies.
The G3-Hybrid is an open international standard defined by G3-Alliance, combining G3-PLC (Power Line Communication) and RF (Radio Frequency) wireless communication technologies into a unified wired-plus-wireless hybrid architecture. This technology enables highly reliable, scalable, and resilient mesh networking systems with extended coverage and enhanced connectivity, making it a key communication technology for next-generation Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and smart grid applications.
Unlike traditional single-mode PLC or RF communication, the G3-Hybrid adopts a unified protocol stack architecture. Building upon the ITU-T G.9903 G3-PLC standard, it further integrates the open IEEE 802.15.4-2020 standard, enabling every node in the network to communicate simultaneously via both PLC and RF. The system can automatically and dynamically select the optimal communication medium and routing path based on on-site environmental quality, noise interference, link status, and transmission efficiency — achieving true Adaptive Medium Selection.
In addition, the G3-Hybrid Mesh network features strong Self-Healing capabilities. When local networks are affected by power line noise, building obstructions, environmental interference, or link anomalies, the system can automatically switch between PLC and RF links and re-establish the optimal path, significantly improving overall network connectivity and system resilience. According to data from G3-Alliance and related technical studies, Hybrid PLC+RF networks can achieve coverage rates exceeding 99.9%, markedly superior to single communication technologies.
