A smart city refers to an urban area that has a network with various sensors and devices (IoT) to collect data from the areas, including people, traffic, lighting, environment, assets, etc. The information are processed and analyzed to help managing the city and resources more efficiently.

Government can use the smart city technologies to interact with its people and improve the quality of service in the areas of transportation systems, power/ utility supplies, police force, security, educational/ medical institutions, and other community services, etc.
